Ed Sheeran is currently in India where he will be performing over the weekend. This is Ed’s second time in India. In a recent interview, the globally popular singer talked about his visit to India when he also revealed that SS Rajamouli’s RRR is his favourite Indian film.
“I really feel the ‘love’ here, in India. Sometimes you can play in places and people can be very subdued. Like, even if they are feeling [the vibe] inside them, you can never read how people feel. I have played in certain countries where people have a subdued reaction, but here, in India, it’s a vibrant country. People are so excited! I have the same personality, so I like that,” Ed told India Today.
Ed further shared that SS Rajamouli’s RRR is one of his favourite movies. “It is an incredible film,” he said. The film starred Ram Charan and Jr NTR in the lead and was released in theatres in 2022.
Meanwhile, ahead of his mega show, the globally popular singer seems to be enjoying some quality time in the city. On Wednesday night, he visited Shah Rukh Khan’s Mannat where he met several stars including Farah Khan. Prior to this, Ed was also seen meeting Ayushmann Khurrana. A video of Ed also went viral on social media in which he was seen dancing to ‘Butta Bomma’ with Armaan Malik.
Ed Sheeran also visited schools in Mumbai. In the videos that surfaced online, he was seen having fun with the students. They organised a special performance for him. Ed was seen sitting on the floor with the kids as he watched the others perform. He also played the guitar and sang his hit song Shape of You for them.
Ed Sheeran will be performing in India as part of his Asia and Europe Tour in 2024. The India leg of this much-awaited sensational and best-selling tour will be the final stop in the Asia Tour and will be held at the Mahalaxmi Racecourse in Mumbai on March 16, 2024.
