Siddharth Jadhav Dismisses Similarity Rumours Between HanuMan And His 2010 Release Huppa Huiyya
Fans of Marathi cinema have alleged that most of the scenes of HanuMan are similar to the movie Huppa Huiyya.

Teja Sajja’s latest venture, HanuMan, is generating significant buzz in the entertainment industry following its theatrical release on January 12. Directed and written by Prasanth Varma, the film marks the first instalment of the Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe. Garnering positive reviews at the box office, the movie, produced on a Rs 20 crore budget, has successfully crossed the Rs 100 crore-mark in India. Teja Sajja’s performance is receiving widespread acclaim from both audiences and critics.

However, amidst the film’s success, comparisons have arisen between the storyline and poster of HanuMan and Marathi actor Siddharth Jadhav’s 2010 film, Huppa Huiyya, directed by Anil Surve. Fans of Marathi cinema are alleging that several scenes in HanuMan closely resemble those in Huppa Huiyya and even the movie posters share similarities, prominently featuring the lead actor with a monkey on his shoulder.

Responding to these claims, Siddharth Jadhav, though admitting he has not watched HanuMan yet, believes that the reviews indicate some thematic commonalities with Huppa Huiyya. In an interview with E-Times, Siddharth stated, “I have not seen the movie Hanuman yet. But according to the reviews that have come out, the film is not like Huppa Huiyya, but there are some similarities.” He urged fans to watch HanuMan, describing it as a good movie suitable for children, who would likely enjoy it.

During the interview, Siddharth expressed his satisfaction that Huppa Huiyya is gaining renewed attention years after its release, courtesy of the discussions surrounding HanuMan. Responding to the demand for a sequel to Huppa Huiyya after the release of HanuMan, Siddharth Jadhav conveyed his happiness about the revival of interest in the film, stating, “I am happy that the movie ‘Huppa Huiyya’ is being talked about after so many years because of the movie HanuMan.”

As the debate continues, the audience remains intrigued by the comparisons and awaits further developments in the cinematic discourse surrounding these two films.
