Apple Vision Pro Launch: App Store To Scan Your Face For Right Headset Fit
Apple wants the Vision Pro to fit correctly on users’ heads for optimal performance, and this is only possible if they buy the headset with the right Light Seal and Head Band.

Apple might be working on a way to ensure that Vision Pro buyers get the right size by using a facial scan. This is because Apple wants the Vision Pro to fit correctly on users’ heads for optimal performance, and this is only possible if they buy the headset with the right Light Seal and Head Band.

This information comes courtesy of MacRumors. The publication notes that

it discovered code snippets in the Apple Store app that suggest Apple will

scan your face using the Store app to suggest you the appropriate size. “You may scan your face to determine your size for Apple Vision Pro,” the code reads.

The publication further notes that Apple has already been using a Head Measure and Fit app to assist developers testing the Vision Pro headset in finding the ideal size. This could indicate that Apple plans to include similar functionality in the Apple App Store itself, and that this could be the solution for people purchasing the Vision Pro online rather than in person, where Apple Store Geniuses can assist them in selecting the appropriate fit.

In the box, Apple will include the headset itself, a Solo Knit Band, Dual Loop Band, a Light Seal, two Light Seal Cushions, the cover for the front of the device, a polishing cloth, and a USB-C power adapter and cable.

Coupled with the ZEISS Optical inserts, the Apple Vision Pro is not a product that fits into the one-size-fits-all category. With that said, more details will be available when the Apple Vision Pro goes on pre-order starting January 19th.
