Apple Vision Pro is in high demand as expected, with many people using it for different stuff, including some not-so-legal matters. However, it is interesting that the $3,499 headset has garnered a decent footfall for a first-gen product and Apple is generating interest for the device outside of the US already.
In fact, some people are desperate enough to get the Vision Pro shipped to their shores and they seem happy to pay the big bucks to make it happen. The Vision Pro had flooded marketplaces in Japan, China and Singapore in recent days, with people being quoted well above the market price of the headset.
As per a report by Bloomberg, people are being asked to pay well over $5,000 (Rs 4 lakh approx) for the device which can even cross $6,000 (Rs 5 lakh approx) depending on who the seller is and which model they want to buy. Experts have pointed out that Apple could have a big impact on the mixed reality segment with the Vision Pro but even they might not have foreseen this level of demand.
Apple has smartly limited its official availability to the US with reports hinting at a China launch in the coming weeks. But for everyone else, Apple doesn’t have a formal route, which means, just like the black marketing of iPhones, people are ready to spend big on getting the Vision Pro imported from the US which can’t be easy with customs agencies keeping a close eye on these shipments.
Apple Vision Pro is currently only available in the United States. There are three variants of the Vision Pro available: the 256GB base model, the 512GB variant, and the top-end 1TB variant. These are priced at $3,499, $3,699, and $3,899, respectively. The headset got its first beta update which fixes the problem of resetting the device without going to the store every time.
