New Delhi: Huawei has launched its new flagship smartphone - the Honor 7 - in India at a price of Rs 22,999. The new Honor phone will be exclusively available on Flipkart from October 15.
The company has introduced the 16 GB model of the Honor 7 (expandable up to 128 GB) in India, and has no plans to bring the 64 GB variant to the country. Also the model introduced in India supports single SIM.
The phone, as the company says, will be available in two colours - Mystery Grey and Fantasy Silver.
The Honor 7 has a fully metallic body and is air-brushed with a ceramic coating. It features a fingerprint scanner at the rear which, according to the company, allows for 360-degree fingerprint authentication from various angles.
One of the key highlights of the phone is its 20 megapixel rear camera that is paired with a dual-tone LED flash. The 8 megapixel front-facing camera on the phone has a wide-angle f/2.4 aperture lens and a built-in LED flash.
The Honor 7, which is packed with a 3100 mAh battery, also includes reverse-charging capabilities. This means the phone can also be used as a power bank to supply juice to other phones.
Under its hood is an octa-core Kirin 935 processor paired with 3 GB of RAM. It features a 5.7-inch display with a screen resolution of 1920x1080 pixels.
The phone is claimed to be the first device in India to come embedded with Panic button and SOS feature.
"Two months ago the Indian government sent a directive to all smartphone manufacturers to include a panic button or a SOS feature in all its smartphones. Honor India was the first mobile handset brand to incorporate a pre-embedded SOS feature in the phone. The SOS feature will be an application which can be configured by the user as per their convenience," said the company.
Alongside the Honor 7 launch, the company has also unveiled the Honor Band Z1. The fitness band is priced at Rs 5,499 and is scheduled to be released by the end of October.
