New Delhi: OnePlus has revealed a launch date for the potential successor of its flagship OnePlus One smartphone on social media. The OnePlus 2, as the next in line would be called, is going to be unveiled on June 1.
OnePlus announced the news on Facebook and Twitter with a semi-sketch of the purported device with a description that reads, “We’re always looking for ways to shake up the tech industry. And we think it’s time for change. Find out more June 1.”
Although the name of the device has not been revealed by the company in either of the posts, it hints towards the potential successor to the popular OnePlus One phone.
Alongside announcing the open, invite-free sales of its OnePlus One devices from April onwards, the company had also said that it will initially launch its OnePlus 2 devices with invites.
Recently, benchmark leaks on Geekbench listed the specs of the purported device which carried model number A2001; the model number of the One is A0001.
The OnePlus 2 was listed as running the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor combined with 3GB of RAM. It is expected to run the Android Lollipop version with OnePlus’s own OxygenOS on top.
