OnePlus has officially announced that the next-generation OnePlus 9 series will launch on March 23. The company has also announced a partnership with Swedish medium format camera makers Hasselblad, for the optics on the next smartphones. As per previous rumours, the upcoming series will include the vanilla OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro. The Chinese tech company is also expected to launch a budget-oriented OnePlus 9R at the same event. The regular and the pro models are expected to carry the flagship Snapdragon 888 from Qualcomm.
OnePlus shared the latest development across its social media channels. The launch event will start at 7:30 PM IST (10:00 AM EDT), the company revealed. The promotional video clip also teases one of the phone’s quad rear camera setup with the Hasselblad branding. Earlier in February, YouTuber Dave Lee claimed that the OnePlus 9 Pro would come with quad rear cameras, a curved display with Quad-HD+ resolution, and Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC. The regular OnePlus 9 is said to feature a flat display. Whereas, the toned-down OnePlus 9R (or OnePlus 9E) may pack the Snapdragon 690 SoC.

The OnePlus 9R will also reportedly include 8GB of RAM, 128GB storage, 64-megapixel primary camera, and a 5,000mAh battery with at least 30W fast charging support.
Meanwhile, another report recently tipped that OnePlus will also launch the highly-anticipated OnePlus Watch alongside the OnePlus 9 series. Details about the OnePlus Watch remains scarce, though it may run on Google’s WearOS. Earlier in January, two OnePlus Watch models received certification from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), indicating their launch in India. It could possibly mean two variants of the same smartwatch or two different models altogether. The second model is rumoured to be called OnePlus Watch RX. Currently, OnePlus not confirmed the launch of its first smartwatch this month. More information is expected in the coming days.
