Vivo is reportedly working on a new smartphone namely Vivo S9e that is going to be a part of the latest Vivo S-series lineup. According to the tipster Arsenal (machine translated from Chinese) on Weibo, the new Vivo smartphone will pack a 4,100mAh battery, a 64-megapixel ultra-wide-angle primary camera, and a 90Hz display. The launch date of the rumoured Vivo S9e remains unclear, and the Chinese tech company is also yet to confirm its development. Notably, the vanilla Vivo S9 will reportedly launch in March.
The tipster adds that the Vivo S9e will carry a price tag of CNY 2,298 (approx Rs 25,700) for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant and CNY 2,598 (approx Rs 29,000) for the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage model. The Vivo S9e is also tipped to carry a 6.44-inch AMOLED display with a waterdrop-style notch, MediaTek Dimensity 820 SoC, a 32-megapixel front camera, and a triple rear camera setup. The phone reportedly supports a 33W Flash Charge. As mentioned, its availability remains unknown, though the tipster indicates that the Vivo S9e could be still under development.
Earlier this month, the same tipster had also noted the development of Vivo S9 with the unannounced MediaTek Dimensity 1100 chipset. The phone is touted to be a successor to the Vivo S7 that was launched last August and was a selfie-focussed phone with dual front cameras. It was added that the Vivo S9 would launch on March 6. Other key features rumoured on the Vivo S9 include a dual selfie camera setup with a 44-megapixel primary sensor, a triple rear camera setup, up to 12GB RAM, and up to 256GB of onboard storage. The smartphone will also reportedly pack a 4,000mAh battery onboard. As Vivo is yet to confirm the development of either of the smartphones, readers are advised to take the aforementioned information with a pinch of salt.
