The Meta-owned popular instant messaging platform WhatsApp is adding new icons for the chat attachment, introducing them in a grid arrangement rather than a sheet. It will offer users a more modern experience when choosing what to share in the conversation.
“After installing the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS 23.24.10.70 update, which is available on the TestFlight app, we discovered that WhatsApp is introducing new icons in the chat attachment view,” WABetaInfo reported.
The instant messaging app redesigned some icons in the chat attachment view, and the changes are available to all beta testers who have installed the latest update. The introduction of the new icons representing image sharing, contacts, documents, and camera is likely due to recent interface changes to the interface of the app that involved the use of new colours.
“We believe that WhatsApp’s commitment to revamp the chat attachment menu by updating its icons reflects a particular approach to refining the user interface. These changes serve as a major step in their commitment to enhancing user experience,” said WABetaInfo.
In addition, WhatsApp is now releasing an introductory screen to announce that WhatsApp beta for iPad is available to current beta testers. New icons for the chat attachment view are available to all beta testers who install the latest update of WhatsApp beta for iOS from the TestFlight app.
Meanwhile, WhatsApp is also releasing a feature that adds a shortcut to open AI-powered chats from the Chats tab. A new button is located in the Chats tab above the icon to start new chats. With this button, it’s possible to quickly open the AI-powered chats, making the process faster and even more convenient for users.
By introducing a dedicated shortcut, users can quickly access AI-powered chats directly from the Chats Tab without opening the contact list.
The feature that adds a shortcut to open AI-powered chats from the Chats tab is available to some beta testers who install the latest WhatsApp beta for Android update from the Google Play Store, and it is rolling out to even more people over the coming weeks.
