Anupamaa To Take Another Big Leap, Majority Of Stars To Be Replaced By New Faces: Report

Star Plus’ hit family drama Anupamaa, a remake of the Bengali serial Sreemoyee, continues to dominate the TRP charts. As per reports, the Rupali Ganguly-led show is set to take another major leap of 10-15 years, with most of the star cast exiting. Only Rupali and Gaurav Khanna will continue to work in the serial, while stars like Kunwar Amar Singh, Gaurav Sharma, Alpana Buch, Nidhi Shah, Arvind Vaidya, Aurra Bhatnagar and others will be leaving the show. However, the cast and the makers have yet to confirm the news.

According to the report by Times Now, the makers plan to bring some new faces to the family drama. Earlier, a Telly Talk India report also suggested that after the leap, actor Shivam Khajuria would play an important role in Anupamaa.

Anupamaa has been making the headlines for some time. It started when Vanraj aka Sudhanshu Pandey, announced through his Instagram his decision to quit the TRP-dominating show. In an IG live, he shared the information with his fans and said, “For the last four years, I am reaching out to you through a daily soap. I have played a character for which I have received immense love as well as hate. I respect all your emotions, but I want to say this with a heavy heart that I am not a part of Anupamaa. Since Rakshabandhan, I have not shot with them. Not playing Vanraj Shah anymore.”

Following this, another Anupamaa star, Madalsa Sharma Chakraborty, who played Kavya in the show, decided to quit after being associated with it for four years. Addressing rumours that her rift with Rupali Ganguly was the reason behind her quitting, she said, “Honestly, when you work in a place for so long—4 years, kabhi na kabhi, kahin na kahin, kisi na kisi ke sath kuch toh upar neeche hota hi hai. That is not something you take to heart because you are meeting many types of people every day of your life. There is nothing that I would rather want to put out there that I had something bad going on with Rupali or any other actor. Certain days are good, and certain days are not good, which is how life functions,” as quoted by Times Now.

As for the current storyline of the show, Anuj has asked for Anupamaa’s hand in marriage, but she is taking her time to respond to the proposal. Meanwhile, her former in-laws, the Shahs, have taken shelter in Asha Bhavan, and Anupamaa, being a kind-hearted soul, takes care of them.
