Soft Tennis events are set to begin at the Asian Games on October 3. India will be fielding a 10-member squad which will compete in men’s and women’s events at the Hangzhou Asian Games. All soft tennis matches at the 2023 Asian Games will be played at the Hangzhou Sports Park Tennis Centre. Rohit Dhiman will be representing India for the second time in soft tennis at this year’s Asian Games. He had made his debut in the competition back in 2018. He is also a recipient of the UT State Award and has won many national and international events.
This will be the third time that the Indian contingent will be participating in soft tennis. They had previously participated in soft tennis events back in 2010 and the 2018 Asian Games. The best position that India could manage at the Asia Cup was eighth. This time they will at least be eyeing a podium finish in Hangzhou.

Soft tennis was first introduced in the 1990 Asian Games in Beijing, China. The game made its debut at the Asian Games in 1994. South Korea are the most successful team in the history of the competition. They were the best nation in the first three editions of the event in 1994,1998 and 2002. They won 25 golds in the competition so far. South Korea’s dominance was ended by Chinese Taipei in 2006, Qatar.
