Bengaluru Man Asks WhatsApp Scammer 'How Are You', Then 'This' Happened
Viral Post: A Bengaluru man decided to play around the scammer who texted him on WhatsApp. Then this happened.

In a world where everyone’s scared of scammers, a man from Bengaluru decided to have some fun with one who tried to pull a fast one on him. He spilled the beans on the whole chat over on ‘X’, where some random person sent him a suspicious APK file through WhatsApp. Despite knowing it was a scam, he decided to toy with the scammer. Their chat wasn’t exactly serious, but it sure was entertaining.

So, what went down? It all started when the scammer sent the file to Chetty Arun. “I got 4-5 such messages from different numbers today. All sending me an APK file on WhatsApp. I got annoyed at first. Blocked all those numbers. But this one particular one, I decided to call and bash him. But then, the weirdo in me wanted to have a chat” Arun recounted.

He straight up told the scammer he knew it was a scam and then casually asked in Hindi, “Hey, how’s life treating you?” Surprisingly, the scammer was up for a casual chat.

They talked about everything from where Arun hailed from to what they do once people fall for their APK file trick. The scammer confessed to using a victim’s number to contact Arun, claiming access to all their OTPs and messages.

Summarising the scammer’s words, Arun noted, “First, take over WhatsApp of the victim. Second, try installing all ecommerce and bank apps and sign up. OTP anyway comes to them. Once they have access to any such apps, sky is the limit. Saved card on ecommerce apps? Can do CVV less transactions till a limit. BOOM!”

And the drama didn’t stop there. The scammer not only warned Arun against installing dodgy stuff on his phone but also asked for Arun’s Twitter bio when he mentioned wanting to share tips with the community to save them from scams. But he quickly caught on to what Arun was planning to post and deleted all their chats.

Nonetheless, in the end, the scammer asked Arun not to get the cops involved and they wished each other well.
