India and Pakistan, known for sharing the fiercest cricket rivalry, once again locked horns at the ICC T20 World Cup on Sunday. The high drama and intense competition are unmatchable when the arch-rivals come face-to-face. While Eisenhower Park saw a sold-out crowd descend for the epic clash, the picture was ever more dramatic outside the stadium.
A viral video of a group of cricket fans has gained traction on the internet, as they got into a serious argument with the staff of a local movie theatre over the match’s screening. The incident took place at a Cineplex in Canada’s Mississauga, Ontario. At a time when several Cineplex theatres were screening the live India vs Pakistan T20 World Cup match, the Mississauga outlet failed to proceed with it, thus leaving the fans furious.
In the video, a man dressed in India’s blue jersey can be seen screaming at the staff member while another also intervenes and slams them at the same time. “You don’t understand what is going on. If it was a baseball match, then you would realise,” one can be heard saying.

Many others who arrived to watch the match’s screening gathered around and berated the staff, further demanding an explanation for cancelling the match screening. The now-viral video has also had a lot of reactions on the social media platform. A user wrote, “And I thought cricket brings us together,” while another commented, “Working customer service is tough. Those employees very likely have no call on what is shown on those TVs.”
Another user commented, “It’s HILARIOUS BECAUSE THIS IS THE CONCESSION STAND. GO TO THE TICKET BOOTH AT LEAST.”
The video has so far garnered over 2 million views, along with more than 3,000 likes. It was also circulated on other social media platforms, going equally viral. Though the match took place a few days ago, it is still creating buzz on the internet for various reasons.
On Sunday, June 9, the Rohit Sharma-led Indian team defeated Pakistan in a low-scoring match by six runs. After losing the toss, India batted first and were all out with 119 runs in 19 overs. However, the bowlers fought back, restricting the Pakistan batters from scoring.
