In Bihar, This Floating House On Ganga Doesn't Drown In Floods
This unique house was built in Buxa, Bihar a year ago and floats on the river Ganga.

The water level of river Ganga has risen due to continuous heavy rains in the hill regions and the release of water from dams at many places. According to a report by the Central Water Commission, the water level of the Ganga is rising at the rate of four centimetres per hour and will continue to rise in the coming days.

In such a situation, a young man from Bihar has built a house that will not drown in floods. This house is not located anywhere else but above the river Ganga.

This unique house was built in Buxar a year ago which floats on the river Ganga. The idea of building this house was conceived by Prashant Kumar, a resident of Arrah. As his house was repeatedly destroyed by floods, he decided to build a house that would not sink. To put this idea into practice, Prashant also talked to friends living in Canada, Germany and the Netherlands. With their help, he built a house that could float on water in floods. This house is being discussed far and wide.

The unique house has been built near Kritpura village. This tentatively built house is now being moved from one place to another. This house is fixed underwater with iron angles. When there is a flood, it floats with the waves. This house is made of a material that is not affected by water. Also, the material used is very light so that the house can easily float on the water. Don’t make the mistake of thinking of this house as any other house. You will also find a kitchen, bathroom and bedroom in this house.

He discovered the house when he went to Scotland on a bike in 2017. During that time, he visited many countries. Then, when he saw the flood-affected people, this idea came to his mind. After coming to Bihar, he started working on this project. Currently, the construction of the house costs Rs 6 lakh. This house is eco-friendly. The bricks used for construction are made of cow dung, soil and rice husks. It is not only light but also does not harm the environment.
