As the internet can’t stop praising the former USA captain, an old video in which he’s singing Om Namah Shivaya surfaced.
Originally posted on his Instagram page in April, the video shows Netravalkar playing the ukulele while singing the devotional song in sync. Celebrating the cricketer’s contribution to the USA’s victory over Pakistan, an X user shared the video and wrote, “He is Saurabh Netravalkar, who led the USA to victory against Pakistan in a super over.”

Meanwhile, the original Instagram post includes a caption that explains how Netravalkar finds “positivity and bliss” in the song. In the video, he can be seen sitting in front of the camera wearing a casual outfit and holding a musical instrument. Seconds later, he begins singing the song in a beautiful voice, looking quite engrossed in the environment.
The now-viral video has garnered a lot of reactions on social media, with people lauding his abilities as a cricketer. A user wrote, “He’s a part-time cricketer, an engineer at Oracle with an MS in Computer Science from Cornell University, and also an excellent ukulele player,” while another commented, “Always stay loyal to your roots.”
“What a beautiful end to this day, a great cricket match and now this,” another user remarked, while one commented, “Sung very well indeed.” The video has so far gained over 2,00,000 views, along with more than 7,000 likes.
Who is Saurabh Netravalkar?
Born in Mumbai, Saurabh Netravalkar played for India U19 before moving to the US in 2015. However, his passion for cricket didn’t end there, as he went on to play for the US national team. He is also employed as the Principal Member of the Technical Staff at Oracle, thus dividing his time between coding and playing cricket.
In his latest stint, the left-arm fast-medium pacer helped the USA move ahead by picking up the wickets of Mohammad Rizwan and Iftikhar Ahmed in the first and 18th overs, respectively.
