Paris Olympics Gold Medalist From Philippines Accuses Mother Of 'Draining His Bank Account'
Carlos Yulo, the gymnast, is the first athlete from the Philippines to win two gold medals at the Olympic Games.

Filipino gymnast Carlos Yulo shared an anecdote about his personal life after wrapping up his historic campaign at the Paris Olympics. He triumphed at the men’s floor event before replicating the success in the artistic gymnastics vault. Yulo is the first athlete from the Philippines to win two gold medals at the Olympic Games. He is also the first male from his country to finish atop the podium at the mega sports event.

After achieving the legendary feat, Yulo made a shocking revelation about his mother Angelica, who allegedly took money from his bank account. The 24-year-old athlete further claimed that his girlfriend Chloe Anjeleigh San Jose was the main reason behind the rift with his mother.

According to a report by Inquirer, Carlos Yulo and Chloe Anjeleigh San Jose recently appeared together in a TikTok video. It was the clip where the Paris Olympics gold medalist accused his mother of draining his bank account. According to him, Angelica has also withdrawn money from his tournament incentives and monthly allowances for gymnastics.

“When I finally got control of that bank account, I found out she had been draining it. I have the bank statements showing the withdrawals she made. I wouldn’t have known that she had received them if I hadn’t looked for them myself,” Yulo was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.

The talented gymnast further revealed that he was supposed to receive a six-figure incentive for a previous tournament but the fund was never added to his account. “I have never received those incentives, and I never asked them for it. I have given up on it; it’s no longer mine,” he added.

Carlos Yulo’s mother addressed the topic during a recent chat with Bombo Radyo. Angelica claimed that she transferred the money to another account for safekeeping. “As a mother, I felt that my child might run out of money in the future. So, what I did was deposit it under my name at BPI here in Vito Cruz. Then, I held on to it and turned it into a bond for a credit card,” she explained.

Yulo, however, didn’t like the fact that his mother was handling the money without his consent. He said, “The issue here is not on how little or big the amount was that she handled, but her hiding and handling it without my consent, which I’m pointing out to her.”

About his mother’s issue with his girlfriend, the youngster revealed, “Ever since the beginning, she didn’t like Chloe, even though she hadn’t met or seen her in person. Our relationship worsened when I started setting boundaries. I stood up for Chloe because I like her.”

Despite being of Filipino origin, Chloe Anjeleigh San Jose was raised in Australia. As per Yulo, his mother had a problem with Chloe’s cultural differences. He said that Angelica judged his partner on “how she dressed and acted.”
