This Viral Chapati-Making Hack Is Desi Jugaad At Its Best
The viral hack shows how to make perfect five rotis at once using dough balls with a generous amount of dry flour and a rolling pin.

Roti is one of the most important staples in Indian cuisine. But making a soft, round chapatis for the entire family is a bone-breaking task and requires hours of work. While some have mastered the art of doing it with ease, there are many who struggle to make rotis. If you are also experiencing a similar issue, then fret not! We are here to tell the secret to making not one but five rotis at once. Doubtful how this is possible? But the end results will win your heart.

Recently, a video has been doing the rounds on the internet that shows a woman using just a rolling pin and dry flour on dough balls to make five rotis together. Yes, you read that right. The now-viral clip shared on Instagram by user Megha Singh shows how she tries out a viral hack to roll five rotis at once with a rolling pin.

All you have to do is coat the dough balls with a generous amount of dry flour. Now, slightly flatten them out and stack them on top of each other. Then, take a rolling pin and gently start rolling the dough balls as you normally do. Make sure to apply extra flour if needed so that the doughs don’t stick to each other, and keep rotating the rotis as you roll them flat. Once fully flattened, remove the rotis, and voila! You have five individual rotis rolled out without getting stuck to each other.

It goes without saying that the clip quickly went viral, impressing the desis who spent hours making rotis. The share pulled in 1,06,000 social media viewers who were enthralled to see the hack and wished to try it out themselves. Some expressed that the hack really worked, while others pointed out that it didn’t work well for them. Also, there were some who deemed the hack to be meaningless.

Sharing that his grandmother uses the same technique to make rotis, a person commented, “Meri dadi aise hi roti banati h VO BHI EK dum perfect (My grandmother makes rotis like this only, absolutely perfect.)

Another wrote, “Wow, it really works.”

“Ban jaayegi, try karo, aaram se banti hai (It will be made, try it, it is made easily),” an account remarked.

“I tried with five and then three rotis, but both times didn’t work,” shared a disappointed user.

An individual suggested, “Dust it with more flour so it won’t stick.”

“What’s the point of this hack, you can’t have 5 tawas at a time, making all 5 rotis at a time. So, any which ways you have to stand until each one of them is made,” questioned a user.

Isn’t the viral roti-making hack just amazing?
