Shaving has become an integral part of regular grooming sessions for the majority. While men may opt not to shave their beard daily, women have been busy shaving their facial and body hair. Shaving is quick and cost-effective instead of going through the painful process of getting waxed. But what happens if women shave every day? Are there any benefits of shaving daily?
As per the New York Post, a woman on TikTok, who goes by the name Mary, has claimed that she shaves her face daily and has seen benefits from this routine. On the social media platform, she shared that shaving is good for getting rid of dead skin cells and oils off the face. She has also found the makeup application process to go smoothly. Her viral video from 2023 has been making quite the buzz now.
Mary uses ordinary and disposable razors. She has claimed, “That’s what I feel like really helps maintain my skin, because it doesn’t carry any bacteria.” She started shaving her face when she underwent laser hair removal but was diagnosed with vitiligo and had to stop since the electrolysis was “super painful” for her. Hence, she resorted to just shaving her face. She listed the benefits of shaving daily – removal of dead skin cells and getting rid of excess oil and debris. She prefers the smooth application of her makeup. Earlier she found that her facial hair used to clog her skin pores and cause her to break out.
She shaves off her facial hair, peach fuzz, jawline, near eyebrows and upper lips as well. There might be some benefit since a few health experts have also claimed shaving daily can help improve the skin by making it smoother and brighter.
The comment section was majorly shocked and did not agree with her. One comment advised that shaving every day would eventually lead to hard and thick facial hair growth. Another user was surprised that Mary uses seven razors in seven days and even called it “too much”. One wrote, “That is the stupidest thing I ever seen in my life.” There were a few who agreed with Mary. A comment read, “I dry shave my face twice a month for the last 20 years even before dermablading was a thing. I use a two-face thin blade though! It’s the best!” One added, “I do this, nothing wrong with it.”
