Watch: Indian Man’s 13-Hour Layover Turns Into A 'Luxury Mall' Trip At Abu Dhabi Airport

International travel can sometimes involve long layovers, which can be quite a hassle for passengers. Cramped seating and uncomfortable waiting areas often lead to body aches and headaches, especially when it’s an overnight stop. However, when the airport is as luxurious as the Abu Dhabi International Airport, one perhaps won’t mind having a few hours to spare.

An Indian traveller’s recent post on a layover in Abu Dhabi has caught the attention of social media users. The clip shows an expansive space, devoid of the usual hustle and bustle of passengers waiting in transit. We see an array of luxury brands such as Hermes, Balenciaga and Gucci, among others. Along with this, he also shared glimpses of the impeccable lounge available to passengers.

Sharing the video, X user Katreek who was on his way to Madrid, humorously wrote, “13 hours overnight layover in Abu Dhabi before I fly to Madrid. This airport is basically a luxury mall where flights also land & take off.”

The Abu Dhabi International Airport is famous for its passenger-friendly facilities including luxury shops, Etihad Airways lounges, duty-free shopping and multiple chains of restaurants. Proving this right, Katreek further shared his experience of the Abu Dhabi airport in a follow-up post where he displayed other grand amenities available to passengers.

These included a world-class lounge with comfortable couches with attached restrooms where guests could even take hot showers. We also see a glimpse of his healthy and tasty meal. He quipped over how the Emiratis have decoded luxury and hospitality like no one else.

The very concept of lounges was alien but it is totally worth getting yourself a nice credit card that enables access especially if you travel international. also side note—the Emiratis have cracked luxury & hospitality like no one else.”
