After director general (DG) of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Major General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhary accused India of being involved in targeted killings of individuals in Pakistan last year, India dismissed the claims, terming them ‘false and fabricated’.
“India does not do targeted killings and Pakistan should refrain from such allegations,” Indian officials told CNN-News18.
People familiar with the developments said that Pakistan should provide evidence to prove Indian involvement in the so-called ‘targeted killings’ as DG-ISPR claimed that they have ‘irrefutable evidence’.
“Pakistan has irrefutable evidence of India’s involvement behind the killings,” Chaudhary was quoted as saying by the news agency IANS.
He then appeared to back Canada’s allegations that India was behind the killing of Khalistani separatist-terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar.
“India’s killing spree has spread to different countries now. From the killing of Sikh leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar in another country, India has been involved in killings of individuals in Pakistan,” Chaudhary further added.
People mentioned above said that the Pakistani establishment is taking the allegations made by the Five Eyes forward.
The “Five Eyes” is an intelligence alliance comprising five English-speaking countries: the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. They collaborate closely on intelligence gathering and sharing activities and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau went to the alliance claiming that India was behind the murder of Nijjar.
The US, in a separate case, alleged that Indian officials hatched a plot to kill Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, another Khalistani separatist leader based out of New York.
India has set up a high-level committee to investigate the allegations and termed the allegations levelled against India by Canada as ‘unsubstantiated’ and ‘baseless’.
India also said that Pakistan’s allegations that India violated ceasefire was also ‘baseless’. “Pakistan allegations about ceasefire violations are baseless and the Indian side was protecting borders while the Pakistan army was trying to (help) terrorists infiltrate,” the aforementioned officials said.
“After the ceasefire, continuous attempts were made by Lashkar and five attacks (were) made (against) Indian security forces,” they further added.
The DG ISPR claimed that India’s plan to suppress the opinion of people in Jammu and Kashmir during the ongoing Lok Sabha elections is also quite clear.
The officials trashed the allegations and said Kashmir is going through democratic process and since every party has participated in the elections Pakistan is crying foul.
The officials also said that Pakistan is upset that India has exposed the Pakistan-Canada drug trade nexus.
“Gangsters in Canada are handled by Sikh terrorists sitting in Lahore. They are running a drug nexus and money from that has gone to the Pakistan army as well,” they said.
Meanwhile, the Afghan Army (now led by its Taliban rulers) dismissed the claim that the plot to send a suicide bomber to kill the Chinese engineers in March was hatched in Afghanistan.
“The blame of killing the Chinese citizens falls not on us but on Pakistan. They are solely responsible for this. Pakistan is diverting attention by blaming Afghanistan for these killings,” they said in a statement.
“On the contrary we have evidence to suggest that Pakistan is involved in sending Daesh to Afghanistan. We expect Pakistan to be stable for the safety of this region,” they further added.
