'No Chinese Structure Will Be Allowed Inside India': Rijiju Reacts To Reports Of Arunachal Incursion
Union Minister Rijiju said temporary markings won’t cause encroachment.

Union minister Kiren Rijiju said temporary marking will not lead to encroachment of Indian territory while reacting to reports of incursion by Chinese troops in Arunachal Pradesh.

He said the Indian government, the ministry of defence and external affairs ministry remains engaged in talks with China and no permanent Chinese structure will be allowed inside India.

“Our position is very clear that the Chinese army or Chinese forces will not be allowed to establish any kind of permanent structure outside their line of control,” Rijiju was quoted as saying by news agency PTI.

Rijiju also said that ‘overlapping of patrolling’ by Indian and Chinese forces in undemarcated areas occur. He explained that there are some areas in Arunachal Pradesh where the total area is undemarcated and both Indian and Chinese forces keep crossing into each other’s controlled area due to this, as well as due to the terrain being rough overall.

“Temporary marking will not lead to encroachment of our territory (and) overlapping of patrolling by Indian and Chinese forces in undemarcated areas does take place,” the union minister of parliamentary affairs said.

“The boundaries have not been demarcated since the beginning. So in such a situation, our Indian forces and the Chinese forces keep crossing to each other’s controlled area and because of the tough terrain and undemarcated areas, sometimes the patrolling party go to area which is undefined and they try to put marks, some kind of things are put on the ground and all,” he further added.

The minister said that the government remains steadfast that any foreign country, be it China or anyone else, will not be able to take over Indian lands.

“We will not allow our land to be taken over by any other country be it China or any other country,” he said.

He said the government has ensured that Chinese forces could not ‘establish any permanent structure inside our line of control’.

“Ever since our government has come (to power), the Chinese could not and will not be allowed to establish any permanent structure inside our line of control… We will not allow our land to be taken over by any other country be it China or any other country,” Rijiju said.
