PM Modi Engages In Bilateral Meetings With Leaders From Vietnam, Armenia; Meets Members Of Sikh Community
PM Modi held bilateral meetings with Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan and Vietnam President To Lam on Monday on the sidelines of UNGA

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday met Vietnamese President To Lam on the sidelines of UNGA here and discussed ways to enhance the ties between the two countries and add momentum in sectors such as connectivity, trade, and culture.

PM Modi was in New York on the second leg of his three-day US visit where he addressed the UN’s Summit of the Future held against the backdrop of raging global conflicts.

“Met To Lam, the President of Vietnam. We took stock of the full range of India-Vietnam friendship. We look forward to adding momentum in sectors such as connectivity, trade, culture and more,” PM Modi posted on X.

Both the leaders also discussed ways to enhance the friendship between the two countries.

“PM @narendramodi met President To Lam of Vietnam today, on the sidelines of UNGA in New York. The leaders discussed ways to further enhance the Indian-Vietnam Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and exchanged views on areas of mutual interest,” Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said in a post on X.

PM Modi Meets Armenian Counterpart

Prime Minister Modi has met his Armenian counterpart Nikol Pashinyan on the sidelines of the UN Summit of the Future here, describing the meeting as “wonderful”.

“Wonderful to have met Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan of Armenia on the sidelines of the Summit of the Future at the @UN earlier today,” Modi said in a post on X.

Modi also met the Secretary of State of the Holy See here Cardinal Pietro Parolin.

PM Modi Meets Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas

During his visit to the US, PM Modi also met Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and expressed deep concern at the humanitarian situation in Gaza, reaffirming India’s support for the early restoration of peace and stability in the region.

He arrived in New York on Saturday after attending the Quad Leaders’ Summit in Wilmington, Delaware, where he also had bilateral discussions with US President Joe Biden.

PM Modi Meets Sikh Delegation

PM Modi has met several members of the Sikh community in the US, who thanked him for the work done by his government for the Sikh community.

“We were so happy, and what a positive feeling we had after the meeting. We greeted the prime minister as soon as he walked in the room with the Sikh traditional jaikara of Jo Bole So Nihal, and the prime minister was so gracious to reply back Sat Sri Akaal,” Jasdip Singh Jassee from the Sikhs of America organisation said after he met Modi in New York on Monday.

On Sunday, PM Modi addressed thousands of members of the Indian-American community at the ‘Modi&US’ mega community event in Long Island Sunday afternoon. He also interacted with the top tech leaders and CEOs of the US in a roundtable conference. Later in the day, he held bilateral discussions with world leaders.
