One of WWE’s classic premium live events, Money in the Bank (MITB), will unfold in Ontario on Saturday, July 6. This is going to be the first time MITB will be hosted in Canada. This particular event is widely known amongst wrestling fans for its iconic briefcase matches. Cashing in the MITB briefcase allows the winners to challenge any champion of their liking at any place. The first-ever briefcase ladder match was held at WrestleMania 21 in 2005. As of July 5, 2024, we have seen 30 male and female superstars hold the briefcase.
The 15th edition of WWE MITB will see 12 superstars compete for the briefcase this weekend. The men’s match will feature stars including Jey Uso, Carmelo Hayes, Andrade, Chad Gable, LA Knight and Drew McIntyre. Whereas, the women’s match-up will witness Iyo Sky, Chelsea Green, Lyra Valkyria, Tiffany Stratton, Naomi and Zoey Stark compete.
The upcoming WWE premium live event will also feature a couple of championship matches. Intercontinental title holder Sami Zayn will be taking on Bron Breakker. Whereas, LA Knight will defend his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Seth Rollins. If Knight retains the title then the ex-Shield member would no longer be able to challenge for the championship any more. While Rollins winning the title will force Knight to leave the Judgment Day faction permanently.
Later on the night, Universal Champion Cody Rhodes will team up with Randy Orton and Kevins Owens to face The Bloodline in a six-man tag-team match.
