The GMC Balayogi Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad saw the footfalls of numerous WWE fans, who were all hyped to watch John Cena in action at the Superstar Spectacle on September 8. Cena has been a top figure in the wrestling industry over the past two decades. However, he never got the chance to feature in an event on Indian soil. The Superstar Spectacle finally brought the opportunity to the 16-time world champion. After appearing inside the ring, Cena immediately took off his T-shirt and threw it into the crowd. This led to a war among fans, who all were desperate to get hold of Cena’s T-shirt. Glimpses of the tussle were shared on Instagram and the video went viral in no time.
The caption of the Instagram post read, “Andar se zyada interesting fight to bahar ho rahi hai. (The action outside the barricade was more interesting than what was going on inside the ring).” The scenes unquestionably underline the craze for Cena among Indian wrestling fans.

The video was able to attract reactions from a number of users. One of them seemed not too surprised with what was going on in the video. “Welcome to India,” he wrote, followed by a laughing emoji.
Another fan was not sure if the shirt was tossed into the crowd by John Cena. He enquired, “But who threw the t-shirt?”
An individual sarcastically labelled the brawl as a handicap WWE match, commenting, “It’s a handicap match?”
The Cenation Leader was also quite excited about his first trip to the country. Ahead of his segment at the Superstar Spectacle, John Cena said, “Thank you for allowing me to be here tonight. You know, sometimes we feel something inside that grabs us emotionally. I’ve been imagining this moment right here for 20 years. I wanted to end tonight by saying this moment was far greater than I could ever have imagined,” as quoted by the Sportskeeda.
Cena made an unexpected return to WWE two weeks ago on an episode of Friday Night SmackDown, surprising the wrestling world. He had been out of the circuit for months but was preparing for a roaring comeback. At the Superstar Spectacle 2023, Cena teamed up with Seth Rollins to clash against the Imperium in the main event. Following some enthralling actions, Cena and Rollins launched the Attitude Adjustment and the Curb Stomp respectively at the same time. Both wrestlers then managed to lock in the Imperium together which helped the duo secure a pinfall victory. The 2023 Superstar Spectacle also marked the return of a live wrestling event to India after a hiatus of six years.
