In a move to bring back the strict law of road and safety, especially on highways and expressways, the traffic police are gearing up to enforce strict lane driving rules on the Delhi-Gurgaon expressway.
It has been reported that a dedicated team of cob will be deployed on certain points on the expressway, ensuring proper implementation of the rule by visitors even at night.
Lane Driving Violation Challan
As per the details shared by an officer, if anyone is caught violating the rules, they will be fined Rs 500. Making the same mistake again will cost them a fine of Rs 1,500. It has been informed that the Commercial vehicles will not be permitted to run on the first two right lanes.
Here’s What DCP (Traffic) Says About Rule
According to the Times of India, DCP (traffic) Virender Vij said, the police have started enforcing lane driving for commercial vehicles, starting from the Kherki Daula toll to the Sirhaul border, covering both sides of the expressway. He said, “ Transporters have been informed to ask their drivers not to take the first two lanes on the right on the expressway, otherwise they will be fined.”
To spread the word among people and the department’s officials, Vij also chaired a meeting with top officials including traffic inspectors and SHOs. He issued an order, asking them to ensure a proper implementation of lane driving on expressways.
In order to apply the same rule at night, Vij asked the officials to brief zonal officers about the same.
Challan Report
Meanwhile, the traffic police have issued more than 490 challans in the past two days. A total of Rs 3.6 lakh fine has been imposed on offenders for violating the lane driving rules.
