As autonomous driving is getting closer to becoming mainstream, some experts fear that drivers not having to do the real driving could engage in other more pleasurable pursuits.
"I am predicting that, once computers are doing the driving, there will be a lot more sex in cars," the Toronto Sun quotes Barrie Kirk of the Canadian Automated Vehicles Centre of Excellence.
Even though autonomous cars can operate without a human driver, it is still recommended that a human driver should be in a position to regain control over the car in case of an emergency.
Because drivers tend to overestimate the performance of automated driving, chances are they will shift their focus away from the road.
Ever since Tesla introduced autonomous features in its cars there have been numerous videos posted online showing people behind the wheels of a Tesla performing tasks that a driver shouldn't while driving - such as reading a newspaper or brushing teeth. Sex could be next.
