To provide a big relief in transportation to the public, Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has directed the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to open the Dwarka Expressway for traffic. It has been reported that the e-way is expected to benefit the commuters in upcoming weeks.
Reacting about the expressway, the Union Minister and Gurugram MP Rao Inderjit Singh, who met with Nitin Gadkari, stated that the directions have been given to the authorities, and implementation will be done soon.
Dwarka Expressway Opening Date
The exact date of opening the expressway is not known yet. However, NHAI’s regional manager said that the safety audit of the road is underway, and once it is complete, the newly constructed expressway will be opened for public use.
Here’s What Gurugram MP Says
As per the details shared by the HT, quoting Sing, who said “We have asked the highways minister to open the Gurugram stretch so that people don’t suffer due to traffic snarls and congestion and he agreed to the proposal. He has directed NHAI officials to ensure that the stretch is opened by the month-end. The formal inauguration of the project can be done later.”
Total Cost of Expressway
Buil at the estimated amount of Rs 9,000 crore, the Dwarka expressway has been created in four segments. The first two segments, totaling an additional 10 km, have been built in Delhi, while the third and fourth, measuring about 19 km, are located in Gurugram.
Routes
The expressway route starts from the Delhi-Gurgaon expressway’s Shiv Murti near Mahipalpur, and it passes through Gurugram’s Dwarka Sector 21, and ends on the national highway close to Kherki Daula.
