Uttar Pradesh residents are eagerly anticipating the arrival of the new Vande Bharat Express train, set to launch on Saturday, August 31. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually inaugurate the train, marking a significant development for the region. Hundreds of children from Meerut will become the first passengers of this express train.
The Vande Bharat Express will commence regular service between Meerut and Lucknow on September 1, operating six days a week, excluding Tuesdays. This high-speed train, featuring 8 coaches, will cover the journey in approximately 7 hours and 15 minutes.
The train will depart Meerut at 6:35 AM, arriving in Lucknow at 1:45 PM with scheduled stops in Moradabad and Bareilly. The return trip will leave Lucknow at 2:45 PM, reaching Meerut by 10:00 PM.
Ticket prices for the Vande Bharat Express are expected to be around Rs 1,500 for standard class, while executive class fares will range between Rs 2,000 and Rs 2,500.
In celebration of the new service, children have created a series of paintings to welcome the Vande Bharat Express. Local students view this new connection as a major milestone in the city’s development, which has recently seen improvements such as the Delhi Expressway and Rapid Transit. The city is also set to benefit from future projects, including the Ganga Expressway and a new ring road.
