A 26-year-old man, who was disturbed over his wife leaving him just a year after marriage, killed a 33-year-old relative in West Bengaluru’s Padarayanapura. The couple has a child.
Junaid, the accused, harbored resentment towards his relative Parveen Taj for not assisting him in reconciling with his wife, indirectly attributing their marital discord to her actions.
Parveen was closely related to both Junaid and his wife.
Initial probe revealed Junaid visited Parveen’s residence on the first floor of a residential building in Padarayanapura at approximately 4pm. Finding Parveen alone at home, a confrontation ensued, resulting in Junaid repeatedly stabbing her.
Subsequently, he fled the scene. Severely injured, Parveen managed to descend the stairs but collapsed on the road. Attendees from a nearby wedding hall rushed her to Victoria Hospital, where medical professionals pronounced her deceased upon arrival.
Junaid is a sari vendor, who resides in Chamarajpet. He was nabbed on Monday afternoon.
