Bengaluru's 1 RK Flat Listing Goes Viral For Offering Nothing More Than a 'Bed' For Rs 12,000
Bengaluru flat listed at Rs 12,000 with nothing more than just a bed? Here's everything about and beyond the viral Reddit post.

Recently, a Bengaluru apartment that was listed on the No Broker app became an internet sensation when a Reddit user expressed their dissatisfaction. Priced at Rs.12,000, the picture shared by the Redditor @_saiya_ in the ‘India’ subreddit showcased a cramped space where a single bed barely fit, making it far from the typical bedroom setup. Clearly, this room was not designed with the comfort of its occupants in mind, and it didn’t take long for the post to go viral, leaving some Redditors utterly appalled, while others were left questioning its authenticity.

Subsequently, a flurry of comments began pouring in. One user quipped, “This is a toilet converted into a bedroom.” Another pointed out, “Hostels are far better than this and many charge around 5-7k and offer other amenities.” A third user, in an attempt to maintain some humor in the midst of it all, declared it a “Bed” room.

Yet, amidst the sarcastic banter, some users offered a different perspective, suggesting that the apartment might not be as dire as it appeared. One user opined, “This just looks like a poorly designed apartment, but nowhere near an issue like OP is trying to make it out to be.” Another user reasoned, “If it is fully furnished like that and the rent and deposit is as stated (which is never going to be the case) then this is a normal deal tbh, considering mahadevpura is one of the more expensive localities.”

In fact, upon closer inspection of the No Broker app listing, it became apparent that the 1 RK (1 Room, Kitchen) flat in Mahadevapura had more to offer than initially met the eye. Alongside the elements shared by the Reddit user, the images showed a modest cooking area with a gas stove, along with two small cupboards squeezed into a limited space. There was even a bathroom included. The owner appeared to have made an effort to fit nearly everything into this compact area, including a gas stove, cylinder, water purifier, a small fridge, and more. Surprisingly, they also mentioned a separate servant space. Wait, what? The images didn’t reveal even a proper room for the tenant, and then there are servant’s quarters? It left everyone scratching their heads.

The bottom line? This peculiar living arrangement prompted some deep pondering. How could anyone survive in such a minuscule, airless chamber? But then again, this is Bengaluru we’re talking about—where ‘normal’ takes a back seat, and quirkiness reigns supreme!
