Shweta Bachchan celebrated her 50th birthday today. A doting daughter of megastar Amitabh Bachchan and wife Jaya Bachchan, scores of fans and celebs alike flooded social media with warm birthday greetings. From Abhishek Bachchan to Karan Johar, everyone recalled their fond memories of her. Now, Amitabh Bachchan has penned a blog where he not only talked about her birthday celebration but also remembered how she was brought to Prateeksha at the age of 2.
He penned, “A day filled with the love of family and the greetings and the hilarity of the ‘progress reports’ ..(rolling on the floor laughing emoji)..Birthdays galore .. Shweta, the firstborn, and Nikhil, her husband .. within a day of each other and the bringing in of the GOLDEN age – 50 years .. !”
The actor continued, “At Prateeksha, she was brought to the home, our first home of our own, when she was barely 2, and Abhishek a few months old .. and today to see them celebrate the day in the same home on the same table and surroundings .. LIFE IS A WONDER. Children and grandchildren all together. Family is the greatest bond .. of love togetherness and the joys of each other .. may it ever be in lasting …. and the family at the GOJ .. ? they are supreme.”
For the unversed, as a token of his love, Amitabh Bachchan had gifted the iconic ‘Prateeksha’ bungalow to Shweta Bachchan last year. Shweta Bachchan marked her debut as an author in 2018 with the book titled Paradise Towers. She has two children, Navya Nanda Naveli, who is an entrepreneur, and her son Agastya Nanda, who recently made his big Bollywood debut with The Archies, helmed by Zoya Akhtar.
Meanwhile, Amitabh Bachchan was recently seen in a cameo appearance for Abhishek Bachchan’s Ghoomer. He will next be seen in 2898 AD with Deepika Padukone, Prabhas and Disha Patani. Helmed by Nag Ashwin, the movie is most likely to be released this year.
