Shimla: The Consumer Price Index based inflation for agricultural and rural labourers increased to 8.03 per cent and 8.54 per cent in June, due to rise in prices of essential food commodities including, rice, vegetables and fruits.
The Consumer Price Index numbers for agricultural labourers and rural labourers (base 1986-87-100) increased by eight points each to 646 and 648 during the month, respectively from 638 and 640 in May, a Labour Bureau release said.
The inflation based on food index also increased to 6.24 per cent and 6.40 per cent in the twin series.
The increase in index was attributed to rise in prices of rice, rongi, onion, green chilly, vegetables, fruits and firewood, the release added.
