India's annual inflation rate rises to 0.92 per cent
The index for fuels has fallen by 0.1 pc and manufacturing products by 0.2 pc.

New Delhi: India's annual rate of inflation based on wholesale prices rose marginally to 0.92 per cent for the week ended on October 3 from 0.7 per cent for the like week of the previous year.

The official wholesale price index, as per the latest data, declined 0.5 per cent during the week ended on October 3 due to a fall of 1.4 per cent in the index for primary articles, 0.1 per cent for fuels and 0.2 per cent for manufactured products.

Within primary articles, the prices of fruits and vegetables fell by eight per cent, maize by three per cent, bajra two per cent and tur dal one per cent. Prices of mutton were higher two per cent, while milk and urad dal became dearer by one per cent each, showed the date released by the Industry Ministry.

Over a 52-week period ended October 3, the wholesale prices are up nearly 24 per cent for onions, 17.79 per cent for potatoes, 21.11 per cent for vegetables, 15.6 per cent for rice, 15.71 per cent for pulses.
