Aiming to promote local industries, crafts, clothing, and other businesses, the central and Uttar Pradesh governments have launched several schemes. One such initiative is the ‘One District, One Product’ (ODOP) scheme which assists individuals in starting or expanding their local businesses by focusing on products specific to each district.

Under the Uttar Pradesh government’s ODOP scheme, loans of up to Rs 2 crore are available. Through this scheme, subsidies are offered to encourage people to start and expand their small businesses.

‘One District, One Product’ is an ambitious programme by the Uttar Pradesh government, providing substantial loan and subsidies. Anyone interested can take advantage of this loan to launch their own business.

Loan up to Rs 2 crore

Deputy Commissioner of Industries and ODOP Officer Mathura Ramendra Kumar told Local18 that this scheme can be really crucial and beneficial for people willing to start their own business. “Under this scheme, loans of up to Rs 2 crore are available, enabling people to start their own business,” he said.

He further explained that district-specific products are included in the scheme to promote local businesses.

Subsidy of Rs 20 lakh

Ramendra Kumar said that the scheme also includes a subsidy of Rs 20 lakh as part of the Rs 2 crore loan.

Explaining the registration process, Kumar said: “To benefit from this scheme, one must first register on the portal. After registering, submit a hard copy to the relevant office.”

Applicants need to provide their Aadhaar card, PAN details and project report as essential documents to complete the registration process. The loan process is finalised following verification and a survey of the application.
