Whenever we think about having fried chicken, the first name that crops up in our mind is Kentucky Fried Chicken aka KFC. A popular fast-food chain, KFC has lived up to its tagline — it’s finger lickin’ good. Now, a Madurai (Tamil Nadu) resident named Rahim has started a shop named De Chef Warrior, which is known for its fried chicken. Rahim has claimed that the taste of the fried chicken sold in his shop is closer to the flavour of the chicken sold in KFC. Rahim had been interested in cooking for a long time and pursued his Bachelor of Science in Hotel Management. This space articulates his story.
After completing his course, Rahim started working in a five-star hotel. He then decided to become an entrepreneur and start his own food chain by the name of De Chef Warrior. This shop was started with the aim of providing quality food to the public. Rahim also wanted that this restaurant would be of conveyance to the people hailing from the middle-class strata of society. As per him, middle-class people should also be able to afford chicken with the same taste as the KFC brand. Keeping this aspect in mind, he had kept the cost of chicken low, because the fried chicken is sold at a high price in the KFC outlets.
He sells all kinds of chicken-related dishes like fried chicken, fried wings, fried chicken pasta, burgers, and biryani, all at a low and affordable price. As per the prices fixed by him, fried chicken is sold at a cost of merely Rs 50. The best part about this venture is that it has turned out to be a profitable business model for Rahim. He has incurred no losses to date in his dealings.
According to Rahim, this has helped him acquire a massive customer base. Rahim said that initially, he could make a profit of Rs 5000 per day, but now he earns more with the increase in his scale of operations.
