The Madras HC on Monday ruled that no permission is needed from the state police or the state government for LIVE telecast of Pran Pratishtha at private temples and halls. The High Court also said that it is open to the organisers to make arrangements for LIVE streaming of the inauguration ceremony.
The petition filed in the court sought relief against the ‘verbal ban’ on Annadhanam (free food), special Puja and bhajans in private halls in Tamil Nadu imposed by the DMK government in the state.
“Everyone concerned must keep in mind that Bhakti towards God is only for peace and happiness and should not to disturb the equilibrium prevailing in the society,” the Madras High Court Justice N Anand Venkatesh said while hearing the plea.
Earlier in the day, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman lashed out at the Tamil Nadu government for not allowing LIVE telecast of Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha in temples across the state. Notably, Sitharaman was scheduled to witness the LIVE streaming of the ceremony at a private temple in the state. However, the LEDs were removed from the Temple premises.

Following this, the Bharatiya Janata Party accused the Tamil Nadu Police of removing the LED screens placed in a temple in the Kanchipuram district where Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman was going to watch the LIVE telecast of Ram Lalla’s Pran Prathistha ceremony.
Nirmala Sitharaman on Sunday slammed the Tamil Nadu government over reports of its decision to ban LIVE streaming of the much-awaited ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya on January 22. Calling the DMK government’s action as “anti-Hindu”, Sitharaman claimed that no special pujas and serving free food in the name of Ram is allowed in HR&CE-managed temples in the state.
