The Sankaranarayan temple in Sankarankovil, a renowned temple in Tenkasi district, boasts a distinctive feature, with Thirukovilur Hari and Shiva appearing in the same form. Recently, director-actor Samuthirakani sought blessings at the Sankara Narayan Swamy Thirukovil Temple. Following the darshan, Swami proceeded to visit Sankaralingaswamy, Sankara Narayan, and Gomati Ambal Sannati in Thirukovil, where he performed darsam.
Following his temple visit, Samuthirakani offered fruits to the elephant Gomathi, receiving blessings in return. The news of actor Samuthirakani Swamy’s darshan quickly spread, attracting numerous fans who eagerly gathered to catch a glimpse of him, relishing the opportunity to take photos and selfies with the acclaimed actor.
On the work front, Samuthirakani’s upcoming film, Yaavarum Vallavare, directed by debutant NA Rajendra Chakravathy, is scheduled for release on December 29. The film features Yogi Babu in a leading role alongside Samuthirakani, with a supporting cast that includes Riythvika, Arunthathi, Ramesh Thilak, Naan Kadavul Rajendran, Ilavarasu, Devadarshini, Mayilsami, Bose Venkat, Joe Malluri, Poster Nandakumar, and Cheran Raj.
Rajendra revealed that Yaavarum Vallavare unfolds over 12 hours and reflects society’s quest for heroes within. The movie’s essence, as conveyed by its title, suggests that in challenging situations, one doesn’t have to wait for a solitary saviour. Instead, ordinary individuals who step up become the true heroes themselves.
Samuthirakani is concluding a notable 2023 with the release of Yaavarum Vallavare. His eventful year includes prominent roles in films like Thunivu, Vaathi/Sir, Dasara, and a pivotal role in Are You Okay Baby. Additionally, he directed the remake of his 2021 film, Vinodhaya Sitham, titled Bro, starring Sai Dharam Tej and Pawan Kalyan. Looking ahead to 2024, he is set to feature in Shankar-directed projects, Indian 2 and Gamechanger, both at different stages of production.
