Former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh took to X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday (August 2) to slam a Pakistani fan after he shared a video claiming Babar Azam refused to give an interview to Irfan Pathan when he asked for it during the ODI World Cup 2023 match in India. Harbhajan, who is one of India’s greatest cricketers of all time, was not impressed by the choice of words used by the Pakistani fan in his viral post, and he slammed him for that.
In a tweet that is now going viral on the internet, Harbhajan wrote, “Where is @IrfanPathan in this video?? Bolne ki tameez to aap logo ko pehle hi nahi thi. Ab aankho se dikhna bi bandh ho gya kya? Waise bi agar angreji mai swal pooch liya to pange pad jayenge.”

Pakistan had travelled to India last year to take part in the ODI World Cup 2023. The Men in Green played two matches each in Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Kolkata, whereas the high-voltage match against India was played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on October 14.
The Babar Azam-led side, which entered the tournament as the world No. 1 ODI team, was only able to win four matches in the ODI World Cup 2023 and failed to qualify for the semi-finals. The Men in Green kicked off their campaign with wins over the Netherlands and Sri Lanka but then lost steam and went down against India, Australia, Afghanistan, and South Africa in back-to-back four matches.
After Pakistan’s poor show in the ODI World Cup 2023, Babar stepped down from his role as captain in all three formats of the game. In his place, Shan Masood was appointed as Test captain, and Shaheen Shah Afridi was made in charge of the T20I team.
But after a change in PCB’s management this year, Babar was reappointed as Pakistan’s T20I captain, and he led the side in the T20 World Cup 2024. In the ninth edition of the shortest format megaevent, Pakistan failed to qualify for the Super 8s after suffering humiliating defeats against the USA and India in the first two Group A matches.
