Hardik Pandya is back in the nets and has been sweating out before he turns up for the upcoming T20I series against Bangladesh. He may not be playing the longest format for quite a long time now but he is probably looking for a way back to Test cricket; at least his recent Instagram videos suggest so.
Pandya, who last played Test cricket for India in 2018, has been grinding on the training ground with the red ball. During his recent visit to London, Pandya took part in training at the Mightly Willow Cricket Academy under the watchful eyes of Gujarat Titans assistant coach, Naeem Amin.
Glimpses of the training session were dropped on Instagram by Naeem Amin, who wrote in the caption, “What a fantastic experience working with Hardik Pandya over the last few weeks. We worked on several things, and I’m excited to see his progress in the future.”
“Working with a player at the highest level can teach you so much. The insights have been invaluable, and it’s also been great fun. As with all of the high-profile players I have worked with, I’m very appreciative that Hardik has trusted me to provide input on his game. Well done, and all the best, brother,” he added.

In his 11 Test appearances for India, Pandya has notched 532 runs at an average of 31.29, whilst picking up 17 wickets with the red ball as well.
There were speculations that the 30-year-old could be a surprise pick in India’s squad for the final of the 2023 World Test Championship but he turned down the talks by asserting he doesn’t want to take the place of a Test regular.
“It’s heartening to know that Hardik is bowling with red ball but has he spoken to men who matter (chief selector Ajit Agarkar, head coach Gautam Gambhir and captain Rohit Sharma) about his intentions?,” a senior BCCI source was quoted as saying by news agency PTI.
