'If England Play Bazball, It’ll be Good for India as the Match May Get Over Quickly': Mohammed Siraj

Premier India paceman Mohammed Siraj feels that if England play with their ‘Bazball’ approach it will only help India to finish the game quickly inside a day and a half or two. It will be England’s first tour to India after Brendon McCullum was named their head coach and Ben Stokes took over the captaincy charge and certainly going to be their toughest challenge. The ultra-attacking ‘Bazball’ approach helped England achieve massive success all over the world as the Stokes-McCullum partnership has helped them redefine the red-ball format as they have not lost any Test series after the duo took charge of the side.
Siraj, who has been India’s top pacer across formats in the past couple of years, said that it won’t be easy for England to play with the Bazball approach on the spin-friendly tracks.

“If England play Bazball in Indian conditions, the match may get over within a day-and-a-half or two. It’s not easy to hit every time here as the ball turns sometimes and straightens on other occasions. So, I think it’ll be difficult to see Bazball here. But if they play it, it’ll be good for us as the match may get over quickly,” Siraj said on Jio Cinema.
The premier pacer also talked about his preparations for the mega Test series and said he has to be patient and build pressure on the English batters.
“On their previous tour to India, the matches were getting over quickly. In that series (in 2021) I think I played two matches. In the first innings of one of these, I bowled five overs and took two wickets of Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow. So, the aim will be to control runs in how many ever overs I bowl. If I get wickets fine, but I’ll have to stay patient and continue building pressure on the batsmen,” he added.
Siraj will be playing in front of the Hyderabad crowd as he shared his excitement about it.
“I am waiting for all our fans in Hyderabad to turn up for the game. We love them a lot and look forward to their support,” he said.
