Virat Kohli’s streak of low scores in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 continued as the ace Indian batter fell for just 9 runs in the semi-final clash against England on Thursday. It was the third over of the Indian innings when Kohli seemed to be finding his touch when he pulled Reece Topley for a six. But two balls later, with Kohli aiming across the line, left-arm quick Topley knocked over the leg stump to leave India 19-1.
Soon, the rain halted the play for a brief period and during the break, former India head coach Ravi Shastri analyzed the way Kohli fell prey to Topley’s good length ball in a crucial semi-final.

“This is not Virat Kohli’s game. He should play according to situations and play his natural. He has the capability to score quickly and catch up at the last. He is trying to manufacture shots. This is what you do when you are not in form,” Ravi Shastri told Star Sports.
Later, rain stopped play in Guyana with India reaching 65 for two in eight overs. Skipper Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav were batting on 37 and 13 respectively when the heavens opened up again.
