MS Dhoni making his entry onto the field to bat has become a spectacle in itself. Every time Chennai Super Kings have taken the field this season, fans have waited eagerly to see the legendary cricketer in action.
Tuesday was no different. At the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, the reigning champions squared off against Lucknow Super Giants for a crucial IPL 2024 encounter.
A sea of fans donning their beloved franchise’s yellow jersey were in attendance at the Chepauk. On the penultimate delivery of the final over of CSK innings, when Shivam Dube lost his wicket to a run-out, the crowd went berserk as Dhoni geared up and began his iconic walk to the middle.
The former CSK captain walked out to the ground amidst an electric atmosphere, with fans welcoming him with loud chants.
Ruturaj Gaikwad, the batter, rotated the strike, allowing Dhoni to face the last ball. Out came the flashlights and the excitement was palpable.
Dhoni went on to smash delivery, bowled by Marcus Stoinis, for a four as CSK finished with a big total of 210/4.

CSK would have hoped it will be a comfortable target to defend but they ran into Stoinis storm who was at his devastating best during the run chase.
LSG lost a few early wickets and looked to be struggling. Quinton de Kock, KL Rahul and Devdutt Padikkal, failed to showcase their A-game.
Stoinis stepped up.
The Australian allrounder showed his composure and registered a match-winning unbeaten century. He scored an unbeaten 124 off just 63 balls and his knock comprised 13 fours and 6 sixes. He got some assistance from Nicholas Pooran, who struck a quickfire 34 off 15 balls. LSG ultimately completed the run chase in 19.3 overs to secure a six-wicket victory.
With the win, LSG climbed up to the fourth spot in the standings while CSK slipped a spot to be placed fifth.
