Students appearing in the Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Law University first-year LLB exams were distributed the wrong question papers on Monday. In the LLB first-year paper, questions were asked from only two units instead of five, triggering chaos and confusion among the students. Technically, 10 questions from 5 units consisting of a total of 100 marks were to be asked, which means 2 in each set and out of the two only one question needed to be answered. Each question carried a weightage of 20 marks.
Due to the error, only three questions were asked from just two units. Among these, two questions were marked in the first, wherein students could answer any one, while only one question was marked in the second unit. Due to this, the weightage of a single answer became 50 marks each.
This is not the first time that a university handed over the wrong question papers to the students appearing for the exams.
Earlier this year, Rajarshi Bhartrihari Matsya University in Alwar, Rajasthan, provided BCom second-year students with the wrong question paper which led to the cancellation of the examination, leaving many students in distress.
The students came prepared to take their Company Law exam. To their surprise, the envelope contained a Business Law paper instead. The mistake was quickly noticed by both students and examiners, prompting immediate communication with the university administration.
Realising their mistake, the university immediately cancelled the exam and rescheduled it for a later date. The error affected between 2,000 to 2,500 students in the district.
Another big incident related to the wrong question papers that came under the limelight was when a wrong set of NEET question papers was distributed to students at an exam centre in the Balod district of Chhattisgarh, triggering tears and frustration among the students.
The mix-up occurred at the Govt Boys Adarsh Higher Secondary School and Girls School. Half an hour into the exam, the officials recognised their mistake and notified the examinees.
