ITBP Soldiers' Children Receive Full Financial Support For UPSC Preparation
The Himveer Wives Welfare Association announced that their organisation will cover all expenses for talented individuals during their preparation for competitive exams.

Amidst the challenging -40 degree Celsius conditions experienced by Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) soldiers, a beacon of reassurance has emerged for their children’s future. The Himveer Wives Welfare Association (HAWA) has taken the initiative, assuming the responsibility to address concerns and safeguard the well-being of the soldiers’ offspring.

Expanding their support, HAWA now focuses on aiding the promising children of soldiers aspiring to become IAS and IPS officers through the UPSC exam. Unfortunately, financial challenges have impeded these aspirations. Making a steadfast commitment, HAWA announced that their organisation will cover all expenses for talented individuals during their preparation for competitive exams.

HAWA Chairperson Gauri Rasgotra said that HAWA has signed an agreement with Unacademy in this regard. Under the agreement, Unacademy will not only provide study material to the children preparing for UPSC but will also provide them with coaching facilities. A major part of the children’s education expenses will be borne by an organisation called Smile Foundation.

HAWA Chairperson Gauri Rasgotra underscores HAWA’s commitment to alleviating concerns for soldiers confronting various challenges in the line of duty. The organisation is dedicated to ensuring that these soldiers can rest assured about their families, shouldering the responsibility of caring for them in a manner reminiscent of a parent caring for their children.

The Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force is deployed in the remote hilly areas of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh. The majority of the force’s deployment areas are secluded and lacking in basic amenities and government facilities. Due to operational and other considerations, ITBP officers and personnel are mandated to reside within or near the campus or ITBP battalion.

To address the educational needs of the children of ITBP personnel, the organisation operates primary/middle-level schools in various ITBP battalions, currently totalling 23 such schools. Additionally, there are 13 Kendriya Vidyalayas located in the Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force Complex.

The ITBP provides various facilities and benefits to its personnel and their families. Some of them are:

Educational Welfare Scheme

Regimental Fund Welfare Schemes

Ex-gratia and other benefits

Medical facilities
