The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) has announced the ICSE Class 10 and ISC Class 12 results 2024 on May 6 at 11 AM. Almost 3 lakh students attempted the examination this year and many emerged meritorious. Class 10 student Anamta Ahmed, a native of Mumbai’s Goregaon West, finds a place in this list. She has achieved an outstanding 92 per cent in the ICSE Class 10 Boards. Anamta’s journey to this accomplishment has been riddled with troubles after she faced a traumatic accident in Class 9. Anamta had suffered an electronic shock which resulted in the loss of her right arm. From that day to the current moment, her journey has been marked by determination and resilience.
Around a year ago, Anamta suffered a shock and massive burn injuries after she accidentally touched an 11 KV cable. Her right arm had to be amputated and the left one was reported to be only 20 per cent functional. The Goregaon West girl remained bedridden for over 50 days and had to undergo extensive trauma. Despite that, she remained determined to her objective. She interacted regarding this in an interview with the Times of India. She said, “Doctors had suggested to my parents that I should take a break for a year or two from studies but I was not willing to do so as I didn’t want to sit at home and the school was also motivated and inspired me to move on.”
After getting discharged from the hospital, she watched some social media clips as recommended by the doctors. She wanted to make her left arm fully functional after performing these exercises. However, she said that the biggest challenge faced by her was to write with her left hand as she was not used to it. She was able to incorporate this change but her teachers were not satisfied with it. They asked her to take the services of a writer so that there would be no chance to compromise on the speed part in the examinations. She followed the advice of the teachers and topped the class 10 board exams.
