While the UPSC Indian Economics Service offers immense rewards, it’s not an easy feat to achieve. Lakhs of aspirants appear for the exam annually, and there are only a limited number of vacancies, making the competition fierce and incredibly challenging. But there are many inspiring stories that showcase students achieving success in UPSC exams, and Nischal Mittal is no exception. The success story of Nischal Mittal is a saga of unwavering dedication for all aspirants who are preparing for competitive exams.
Hailing from Bayana town in Bharatpur district in Rajasthan, Nischal Mittal is the son of an electronic store owner who confined himself to a room for eight months to qualify for the examination he was passionate about. After studying tirelessly, his hard work paid off, and he topped the All India examination.
Nischal has had a special interest in economics since college. He enrolled for a Masters degree in Economics from the Delhi School of Economics. After qualifying for NET and JRF, he joined the Swiss Bank of Mumbai as an Authorised Officer. Along with the demanding job and family commitments, he managed his time effectively, kept preparing for the main examination, and utilised online resources strategically.
As per the media outlet ETV Bharat, Nischal believed that if there is faith in the mind, then no goal is difficult. “I studied with better time management along with my job and studied regularly with the help of group studies and online content, and today I achieved success with the blessings of my parents,” said the IES topper.
Nischal Mittal’s father, Shashi Mittal, stated that Nischal graduated from Maharaja College, Jaipur. He further said that during the preparation for the main examination of IES, he neither came out of the house nor attended any wedding ceremony for eight months.
