UP Police Constable Recruitment 2023: Aspirants Demand Relaxation On Age Limit, File Petition

The application process for the recruitment of 60244 constables in UP Police is yet to start. Ahead of this, scores of candidates have raised their demands for relaxation in the age limit. The recruitment is being done after a gap of five years; thus, the candidates are demanding a relaxation of two to four years of age from the state government. As the matter escalated, 29 individuals filed a petition for age relaxation, which will be heard after the winter vacation. Earlier, in the year 2017, the Uttar Pradesh government submitted an affidavit in the Supreme Court, claiming that 30 thousand recruitments would be done every year in the month of August – from the year 2017 to 2020. Despite the claims, the recruitment has been put on hold for the last five years.

The last recruitment was done in 2018, when a total of 41520 and 49568 were employed by Uttar Pradesh Police. Now that the state authorities have commenced the application process after five years, those who were eligible in 2019 and 2020 do not meet the age criteria this year, prompting them to demand age relaxation.

The application window for UP Police Constable Recruitment will open from the 27th of December onwards. Interested and eligible candidates will be able to apply online through the official website at uppbpb.gov.in. The candidate will have to pay the application fee of Rs 400 online through Debit Card / Credit Card / Internet Banking / UPI, while filling out the form to make their submission successfully.

UP Police Constable Recruitment 2023: Eligibility Criteria

Candidates seeking employment under the Uttar Pradesh Police are required to have completed their Class 12th from a recognised board in India. Additionally, they must thoroughly review the age limit before applying. The UP Police Constable age restriction has been changed this year.

The age limit for males in the general category is set between 18 and 22 years; whereas for females, it is between 18 and 25 years. Additionally, for OBC/SC/ST (Male) applicants, the age restriction is 18 to 28 years, and females in the same category must be between 18 to 31 years.
