When passion transforms into determination, there’s no obstacle too great to overcome. Regardless of the challenge, success is inevitable with unwavering dedication. This rings true for IIT JEE topper Shitikanth Kashyap. The JEE Main and Advanced exams serve as the gateway to engineering studies at IITs. Each year, thousands of students undertake the rigorous JEE examination, but only a select few achieve success. However, securing the top rank in this exam is an achievement that would be understated even if put into words. Stitikanth Kashyap received an All India Rank of 1 in the JEE Main 2008.
Shitikanth Kashyap’s educational journey began at St. Michael’s High School in Patna, where he completed his 10th-grade studies with outstanding results, securing a remarkable 93% in his examinations. His academic excellence continued into his 12th-grade exams, where he achieved an impressive 91% score. With a strong foundation laid during his school years, Shitikanth set his sights on pursuing engineering studies at the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT).
Driven by his ambition to excel in the field of engineering, Shitikanth embarked on a rigorous two-year preparation journey for the IIT Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) in Kota, Rajasthan, a renowned hub for competitive exam coaching. Despite the challenges and intense competition, Shitikanth remained focused and committed to achieving his goals.
Born to doctor parents, Shitikanth’s upbringing instilled in him a deep respect for knowledge and a desire to pursue excellence in his chosen field. From a young age, he displayed a keen interest in physics. This passion led him to pursue his undergraduate studies at IIT Kanpur. Later, he pursued a Ph.D. in Quantum Computing.
After passing out from IIT Kanpur, he completed his PhD in Quantum Computing from the University of Waterloo, Canada. However, according to his Facebook profile, he has also worked as a research fellow at the Laboratoire d’Informatique Algorithmique: Fondements et Applications in Paris. Interestingly, when the results of JEE were announced in 2008, he fled his hometown Patna and went to Mumbai because he could not deal with all the media attention.
