Salman Khan Roots For Katrina Kaif’s Zoya Spin-off: ‘Tiger Will Have To Be There To…’ | Exclusive
With Tiger 3 crossing the Rs 400 crore mark, fans are now demanding a spin-off on Katrina Kaif’s portrayal of Zoya.

With Tiger 3 crossing the Rs 400 crore mark at the global box office, fans are now demanding a spin-off on Katrina Kaif’s portrayal of Zoya more than ever. Zoya has been a defining character for contemporary Indian spy films that set a new precedent and saw a female character engaging in some high-octane stunts and bringing down a gang of bad guys with her physical prowess. Katrina, in fact, also recently shared that she’s looking forward to a spin-off of her character, which will mark the first YRF spy film to be headlined solely by a female actor.

And now, in an exclusive conversation with News18 Showsha, superstar Salman Khan, who plays the titular character of Tiger in the popular action franchise, says that he too is excited by the idea of a Zoya spin-off. He tells us, “Why not? But Zoya would be really incompletely without Tiger. So, Tiger will have to be there and save the day and the climax even if he’s not there throughout the entire length of the film.”

In fact, Salman already has an idea of how he would want the spin-off to look like and that he would want to have a memorable introduction scene in it much like Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai and Tiger 3. Talking about it, he remarks, “An introduction scene of Tiger where he’s doing an action sequence somewhere else, a telephone call featuring him and a hook close to the interval would be necessary and important.”

The actor, who will soon begin the shoot of Tiger VS Pathaan with Shah Rukh Khan, further continues, “I would also like to see Tiger landing up in the climax scene wherein Zoya needs him to help her complete a mission. Tiger should make sure that he and Zoya complete task.” Stating his reason for the same, Salman says, “Tiger and Zoya have become so synonymous to one another and me with Zoya and Zoya without me will feel incomplete.”

Salman and Katrina first appeared onscreen in the comedy film, Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya in 2005. Over the years, they have been paired opposite each other in films like Bharat (2019) and Partner (2007), among many others. Their sizzling chemistry, needless to say, has struck a chord with fans who can’t wait for them to be back together soon.

Quiz him if he considers her to be his lucky mascot and Salman, in his signature candour and dry humour, says, “I won’t call Katrina Kaif my lucky mascot because we had Yuvvraaj (2008) together (laughs)! Having said that, the other films that we’ve done have been very successful.”

On a related note, Tiger 3 also starring Emraan Hashmi currently stands at Rs 427 crore at the worldwide box office. It has also emerged as the highest grossing Diwali release in the history of Indian cinema with Hrithik Roshan’s Krrish 3 (2013) coming a close second.
