Vaani Kapoor vs Alia Bhatt: Internet Debates Over Who Wore the ‘Solaria Dress’ Best

Often, actors end up wearing the same outfit to different events. This prompts people to discuss which actor wore or styled the outfit better. Recently, Alia Bhatt and Vaani Kapoor both wore the Solaria Dress by London-based label 16Arlington in different colours. While Alia appeared in a dark brown (‘Bitter Chocolate’) version of the dress in a recent Koffee With Karan episode, Vaani wore the white-chrome (Ice Lavender) version of the same bodycon dress for her birthday in Dubai. The Solaria Dress is a full-sleeved, full-length dress with a keyhole cut-out neckline. It is priced at Rs 140,000.

Alia styled her dress with warm-toned makeup and open hair, and Vaani chose to put her hair in a sleek bun and went with glossy make-up that matched the cool tone of her sequined dress.

Recently, a popular celebrity fashion-centric Instagram account shared a post that compared both looks. It wrote, “Which 16 Arlington dress do you prefer—Vaani Kapoor in her silver one (August 2023) or Alia Bhatt in her brown one, which she wore for Koffee With Karan (November 2023)?”

In the comments, people weighed which look they liked more. An Alia fan wrote, “Aliaa, the colour, the styling, everything.”. Another person favoured Vaani and remarked, “Of course Vaani nailed it.”.

Interestingly, some people also expressed their opinion on the dress itself. One person described the dress as “weird.”. Someone wrote, “I’m tired of this dress already. So many celebrities wore it!!”.

This is not the only time that a Solaria dress was worn by a celebrity. In June 2022, model Hailey Bieber wore the champagne-hued Solaria Dress when she appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

When Alia appeared on Koffee With Karan in the dark brown Solaria Dress, netizens were quick to compare Haley and Alia’s looks.

Comparing the two looks, a Reddit user wrote, “The thing is, Alia doesn’t carry these tall gowns too well. She has a very cutesy face, she looks so good in short dresses or Cinderella dresses. These are definitely for a sexier body type and I wish Alia would just accept her vibe and dress accordingly.”

Another person opined, “The colour, length & neck/fitting are so much better with Hailey. But Alia didn’t look as bad as some of you are making it out to be. The dress, tho isn’t for her given she’s very short, and it being badly fitted on her didn’t help her case either.”
